COVID 19: Wills Service Centre update (2)

Dubai, United Arab Emirates; 24 March 2020: Following the Wills Service Centre (WSC) statement on 22 March 2020, it has now come to our attention that difficulties are arising in relation to arranging for two (2) Witnesses to be present with the Testator in the same room for signing of the Will, and that some difficulty may arise with the requirement to print and scan the signed Will.

We are currently in the process of developing a system similar to our current template Wills Virtual Registry which will allow the Testator and two (2) Witnesses to join in on the video conferencing call from different locations. The system will also allow us to upload the approved Will directly on the system and to affix electronic signatures to avoid the testator having to print the Will and to provide a more efficient process.

Until the new system is developed, however, we request that appointments are booked only in situations where the Testator and Witnesses can in fact be present at the same location to achieve the previously mentioned process for Will registration. We are doing our best to work with our providers and develop the system as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your support and understanding during this time and we will provide an update as and when the new system is fully operational.
